Surface pattern designers create patterns suitable for mass manufacturing of decorative home furnishings and apparel fabrics, wall and floor coverings, paper products, and dinnerware.
In this bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.) degree program, your basic studies are followed by studio courses in surface pattern, screen printing, and computer-aided design. You learn in-depth design methods, color trends, styling, special rendering techniques, and business practice fundamentals. Our students participate in international student design competitions. You will create all of your designs to industry specifications, thus building a professional portfolio.
