Study in London and Los Angeles

LONDON

A global perspective is critical for success in the music and entertainment industries, and the Bandier Program encourages you to take the fall semester of your senior year abroad in London, England. In the music industry, London is considered the center of the “rest of the world.”

At the University’s London center, which is part of SU Abroad, you take classes in such areas as global commerce and law in the music and entertainment industries, global ethnomusicology, and the London classical music scene. You are encouraged to participate in an internship, which is arranged and supervised by the Bandier Program.

LOS ANGELES

Drawing on the strength of its vast network of accomplished alumni in the entertainment industry, Syracuse University recently created the LA Semester, a satellite campus program in Los Angeles.

Students in the Bandier Program are among those who will study in the program. The fall semester students--all of whom will be starting their junior year--will be housed together in an apartment complex in the Toluca Lake district of North Hollywood. Their semester will be built around a 20-hour-per-week internship matched to each student's interests and abilities; internships will span a range of disciplines, including animation, music, digital media, casting, editing, film and television development and production, pre- and post-production, and marketing and distribution. In addition, they will attend classes in their respective majors convened at their living space and at the Universal Studios Hollywood lot. To complete their course load, they will be able to select from a variety of online courses offered by SU's College of Arts and Sciences.
